Moringa Oleífera: the superfood and the tree of life

 

Moringa is an ingredient considered as “superfood” currently very trendy in healthy cuisine since a few years ago it was discovered for its incredible health benefits.

Although not yet sufficiently known on a global scale, it is an ingredient that can be used in multiple ways and ways, in sheet and powder formats mainly. This green seasoning had a great promotion for its use in Cuba by Fidel Castro, who echoed its existence as "tree of life."

This miraculous condiment really belongs to the Moringa Oleifera tree of India and the Himalayas, where it is also attributed numerous alimentary uses, medicinal and healing qualities:

  • Uses: The dried leaves concentrate their properties and are of pleasant flavor and aroma. They are perfect to combine in teas, infusions, and as a condiment applied directly on food. It can also be used as an ingredient in seasoning spice mixtures or directly in powder form on food.
  • Benefits: Moringa is a superfood used for medicinal purposes because its leaves and flowers are rich in protein, minerals, beta carotenes, rivoflavins and vitamin C. Rich also in vitamins and essential amino acids. It has a satiating, digestive, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect.
  • Formats: Moringa can be consumed mainly in leaf and powder. The leaf is taken mainly dry as an aromatic herb or infusion, and its powder from the milling is sifted from the leaf, which has been previously clean dried.
